CORRECTION<\/strong>: Cadbury is owned by Mondelez International, not Cargill. Cargill, the largest privately held corporation in the United States in terms of revenue (it would be #15 on the Fortune 500 if it were a public corporation), does its fair share of evil in the chocolate industry: it purchases cocoa grown illegally in national parks and other protected forests in the Ivory Coast.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re interested in switching your consumption to more ethically-sourced cocoa, Slave Free Chocolate has a pretty good list going<\/a>. Chocolate that is priced according to its use-value is a lot more expensive than that produced by slaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
